Kate Middleton’s $400K Wedding Dress Has a Look-Alike Version by H&M for Cheap — and Matching Shoes, Too

Nicole Kirichanskaya December 12, 2022

Not everyone can afford a wedding dress like Kate Middleton — a $434,000 creation by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen — along with the brand’s complementary pumps. The average person’s budget also couldn’t match that of Pippa Middleton, her sister, who walked down the aisle last year in a bespoke Giles Deacon design with Manolo Blahnik heels.

Luckily with help from H&M, bargain hunters can get the look for less.

The retailer’s wedding collection features a dress that looks similar to the style worn by the Duchess of Cambridge at her 2011 ceremony. While the long lace dress, priced at $299, isn’t an exact duplicate, the resemblance is hard to deny. Look-alike details include a similar ivory tone, an A-line silhouette, a scalloped V-shaped neckline, and sheer lace sleeves over a bustier top.

H&M’s collection includes wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, flower girl ensembles, and outfits for the guests to wear as well. Wedding dresses range from $129 to $349. The shoe styles in the line include silhouettes such as pumps and delicate ballet flats. The majority of the shoes come in creamy neutral tones, much like the elegant ivory tone that Kate Middleton’s own wedding shoes, ivory Alexander McQueen shoes.

An excellent option to pair with many of the wedding dress styles is the court pumps in powder beige. Designed with a faux suede upper on a 3.25-inch heel, the pointed-toe shoes are a bargain at $24.99.
